38 Weeks!!

How Far Along: 38 weeks

Size of baby: Leek. She is supposed to be 19 ½ inches long and 6.8 lbs. According to my doctor, she is smaller than average. As of this week, my stomach was measuring at 35 weeks. We've done lots and lots of measurements and tests, and the doctor has determined that she is healthy and within normal ranges, just in the 10th percentile instead of the 50th or 90th. Right now, I am pretty thankful for her small-ness...

Gender: PRINCESS!!!

Maternity Clothes: A few maternity items and my normal clothes.

Weight gain: 28 pounds – I actually lost 2 pounds this last week somehow.

Belly Button: I now have a outty. It is SO weird to see it protruding out…

Movement: ALL DAY LONG! I am not sure what she is doing in there, but girl never stops moving during the day. Thankfully she settles down at night.

Sleep: Still sleeping pretty well. Lately I have been getting up to use the bathroom every 2 hours, but I have no problem falling back asleep.

Symptoms: Nothing out of the ordinary. I have a good amount of energy during the day, but by the night I am pretty much wiped out.

Cravings: Cold Stone. I want it SO bad, but I have been refraining… Maybe I will get some this weekend.

Best moment this week: I am officially on Maternity Leave now, so I have been getting lots and lots done. I have the nursery complete, baby monitor all set up, car seat installed; now we just need a baby!

July Recap

At the beginning of July, my oldest friend had her baby shower. She and I have been friends since the first week of kindergarten!

Comparing the bumps… Can you believe that our due dates are only 4 weeks apart??

For her gift, my mom¸ sister, and I all pitched in and made her a diaper cake:

At the end of July, we celebrated my nieces second birthday. She is really into Minnie Mouse right now, so that was the theme that my sister decided to go with.

My mom made the cake – isn’t she amazing!

The birthday girl had an announcement to make during the party!

Not sure if you can read her shirt, but it says “Big Sis”… I’m going to be an aunt again!!!

For some reason I can’t seem to remember what else happened in July, but I do remember being really busy… Guess I just forgot to take pictures of everything else.

Can you believe that we are in August already?!?!?

My First Baby Shower

Two weekends ago, my sister, dad, and step mom threw me a baby shower in my hometown. I have to admit, that it could not have been any more perfect.

We chose the theme based on the location. My dad has a hookup at the local Single A Baseball Park, so we had the shower in their Hall of Fame Club.

Tiny Prints just so happened to have pink baseball invitations that went perfectly with our theme:

We used all different sizes of mason jars for the décor:

And we even used them for the drinks:

For dessert I made petite cheesecakes - some topped with fruit and others topped with candy:

We also made cookies in mason jars as give aways for each of the guests:

Unfortunately, my sister has the rest of my pictures from the day, so I will have to post a part 2 in the near future…

Like I said, the day couldn’t been better… I am so blessed to have such great people in my life!

30 Weeks!

How Far Along: 30 weeks

Size of baby: Head of cabbage. She is supposed to be 15.7 inches long and almost 3 lbs.

Gender: PRINCESS!!!

Maternity Clothes: A mix between some maternity clothes and my normal clothes.

Weight gain: According to my doctor, I have gained 18 lbs.

Belly Button: Still have my inny, but it’s starting to look quite flat.

Movement: Bumps all day long – LOVE It! I can tell that she is starting to get bigger because the bumps are getting more prominent – yesterday one actually made me jump.

Sleep: Pretty well. Most nights I wake up once to go to the bathroom, but generally have no problem getting back to sleep.

Symptoms: Tired and hungry all the time.

Cravings: Current I want The Habit in a bad way. One of my coworkers brought it up this morning and now that’s all I can think about.

Best moment this week: Lots of great stuff going on… Getting my first baby shower gift in the mail, getting ready for my first baby shower this weekend, and…. Finding out that I am going to be an Aunt again!!

27 Weeks!

How Far Along: 27 weeks

Size of baby: Head of cauliflower. She is supposed to be 14.5 inches long and about 2 lbs.

Gender: PRINCESS!!!

Maternity Clothes: A mix between some maternity clothes and my normal clothes. Over the weekend I live in cotton maxi skirts and tank tops.

Weight gain: According to my doctor, I have gained 16 lbs.

Belly Button: Still have my inny, but I am thinking that it will be an outty soon.

Movement: Nudges all day long – LOVE It! On Sunday I felt her do a flip for the first time; that was really bizarre!

Sleep: Like a baby (as long as I make sure to cut off my liquids no later than 8:30pm)!

Symptoms: Tired and hungry all the time.

Cravings: Watermelon. I have been going through about a watermelon a week as of lately.
Best moment this week: Hearing her heartbeat at the doctor’s office and feeling that flip.

25 Weeks!!

How Far Along: 25 weeks

Size of baby: Rutabaga. For a while the food by-product was determining the length, but now I guess it’s determining the weight. She is supposed to be 13.5 inches long and about 1.5 lbs.

Gender: PRINCESS!!!

Maternity Clothes: I have bought 4 pairs of work pants and 4 tops, and I have worn them, but not really because I need to, but more so because I like to wear new clothes… The top I am wearing in the pic is maternity, but I am wearing my normal slacks with my Bella Band.

Weight gain: According to my doctor two weeks ago, I have gained 10 lbs. However, my scale says more than that… I’ll keep sticking with the doctor’s scale on this one.

Belly Button: Still have my inny, but I am thinking that it will be an outty soon.

Movement: Nudges all day long – LOVE It!

Sleep: Like a baby (as long as I make sure to cut off my liquids no later than 8:30pm)!

Symptoms: Tired and hungry all the time.

Cravings: None really. I have been eating more carrots than usual, but I think that’s just me trying to curb my constant huger in a healthier way.

Best moment this week: Father’s Day. Even though David isn’t quite a father yet, I made sure to celebrate him. He got a card from his PRINCESS and a book on parenting for fathers (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1616281111/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01).

20 Weeks!!!

As my bestie Kaysie mentioned in her ABCs, I am now 20 WEEKS pregnant and have been a complete slacker with keeping everyone posted on my progress. I have been taking pictures every 4 weeks, but so far they have been having a really hard time getting off of my camera. Anywho – here is a quick 20 week update:
(I promise that my official pictures that I have been taking are significantly better than this one)
How Far Along: 20 weeks
Size of baby: Banana
Gender: I’ve known for about 5 weeks now, but waiting to get the confirmation from my doctor before I share.
Maternity Clothes: None. But I am LOVING my Bella Band!
Weight gain: According to my doctor a week ago, I have gained 3 lbs. My scale says more than that, so I am just going to stick with the doctor on this one
Belly Button: Still have my inny!
Movement: Sweet little flutters
Sleep: Like a baby (as long as I make sure to cut off my liquids no later than 8:30pm)!
Symptoms: Tired and hungry all the time. And the *ahem* “girls” are huge! I think MJ is about to go through a growth spurt and my baby bump will finally appear!
Cravings: None really. But the hubby has definitely been getting some cravings – he had me at Cold Stone at 9:00 last night!
Best moment this week: Mother’s Day. Even though I am not quite a mother, my family did make sure to celebrate me. And at church with my in-laws, when the priest found out I was expecting he ran to the back a brought me out a bouquet of flowers – it was really sweet.

A few other notes:
I go to the doctor on Friday, and she will officially tell me the gender. After that, I will post all about it and how I told my family.
Every time I go to the doctor I have a mini panick attack. I am terrified that she is going to tell me that there is something wrong.
My baby bump changes by the minute! Sometimes it looks HUGE and then other times, my stomach almost looks flat.
My sister had me in a panick about how long it took her crib set to come in (almost 4 months), so on Friday night we rushed to Babies R Us to pick out a crib. After we bought it, they said it'd be in in 2 weeks. I got a call last night saying that it was in! Oh I was SO not prepared to have the crib set in already!!

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Pregnancy Brain Dump

Generally I am really on top of things and have my shit together… But this week I have been a hot mess! Let me tell you about some of the boneheaded things that I have done:
  • Dumped an entire glass of water on my keyboard at work
  • Next day, dumped an entire glass of water on my laptop at work (apparently I need to invest in lids)
  • While showering, put shampoo in my hair twice and could not figure out why my “conditioner” was sudsing so much and why my hair was still tangley.
  • Next day, discovered that I left the conditioner bottle upside down with the lid unscrewed… Conditioner everywhere
  • On my way into work I wear flip flops every day. One day, I got into work and discovered that my flip flops were two different colors
  • I was on a conference call for 1.5 hours at work, and as I was about to get off realized that my phone wasn’t on mute. I have no idea what I was saying or doing during those 1.5 hours…
  • Next day, I was on another conference call… Went to take the phone off of mute to say something (I learned my lesson from the day before), and accidentally hung up
  • Made myself a cup of coffee with our Keurig machine at work. Hit the brew button and walked away to my friend’s cubicle. Went back to the machine, hit the brew button again and walked away to my friend’s cubicle again. Went back to the machine and discovered that I had a major overflow situation ALL OVER THE PLACE. Why did I hit the brew button that second time?!?!?
Anywho, I think I have come to the realization that pregnancy brain is the real deal!

Happy Monday!

  • The Husband is on Spring Break this week, so he is currently in the kitchen cooking us dinner. I LOVE that he is making dinner, but it really stresses me out having him in the kitchen – it’s the control freak in me…
  • Since The Husband is on Spring Break this week I also sent him to the grocery store today. He did… okay. He didn’t get half the items on my list, but he did come home with lots of fruits and veggies from the fruit stand. I may just have to go to the store tomorrow after work…
  • Our cleaning ladies came today and that makes me a very very happy person. Our house smells like bleach and I love it.
  • Today I am 14 weeks and am officially in my second trimester – woo hoo!
  • I am obsessed with How I Met Your Mother. Any time it is on TV, I MUST watch it.
  • This weekend I get to see Mama Mia at Pantages Theater in Hollywood and I am SO excited! I LOVE me some Mama Mia!
  • This weekend I also get to dye Easter eggs with my niece. Last year she had a blast, so I can only imagine that this year will be that much better.
  •  I also get the pleasure of making breakfast potatoes for 20ish people for Easter Brunch on Sunday for The Husband’s family – wish me luck.
  • I love that it is 7:30pm and I can still see outside. Longer days make me such a happy person!
  • I hope everyone has a great week!
